Creating a collection is too cumbersome

I don’t understand English and I completed this article through Google Translate.

It took me 2 days to learn how to create a collection through Anytype. If I had no programming experience, the learning time would be longer or I would give up directly.

I really like AnyType’s data localization and emphasis on data privacy.

But why can’t products be designed to be easier to use? For example, when making a collection, the concepts of Types and Relations are involved, which is not only difficult to understand but also troublesome to operate.

Every time I create a collection, I first create a Type, and then create a Relation. Just thinking about naming issues wastes a lot of my time.

I have to think about how to name it, and I have to avoid duplicating names that already exist before. It’s so tiring.

Why not learn the database function of Notion?

Why is it not supported to create a private Relation that only belongs to a certain Type?

Naming is really painful!

@GuoJing Welcome to the community.

Team is working on updating collection and set, so there should be some improvements.

Your concerns over relation are shared by fellow community members. You might want to add your ideas in the following posts:

As for notion, from what team has demonstrated so far, Notion is a big competitor to Anytype and a major reference for them, but some things require more efforts to be implemented in offline environment. After all, Anytype is still in beta and Notion is a well funded mature application.
