Gives more visual options to play around and adds up to overall aesthetic of Anytype, could be a start point for the whole customization options to come. Also, the removal of homepage/dashboard is very close, and I think we will rely on the new sidebar, so it’ll look even better if we have monochromatic icons.

When I upload custom icons it really looks good from my homepage but inside it’s just not transparent and looks really bad.

Strongly agree with this post. The fact that we need to custom upload every single icon for every single page just because we don’t want to use emojis is very frustrating.
There are several free, open source icon packs that could be used for this if there isn’t enough design bandwidth in the Anytype team.
I would also like to add to this feature request the ability to choose the color for the icons, as well. This would probably just be a choice between the available text colors, but completely custom colors would be nice too.
