To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open Anytype
  2. Click on the X in the top right to close
  3. Anytype minimizes

Expected behavior
Expect Anytype to close iso minimize.

System Information:

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Anytype Version: Anytype Desktop 0.23.5

Additional context
This might be related to the other bugg I just reported: https://community.anytype.io/t/multiple-anytype-processes-keep-running-after-closing/4293

Many other tools (like MS Teams) have the same behavior although in MS Teams it is configurable:

Maybe this could be a feature request to allow the same setting instead of a bug report?

I thought anytype is about to respect users. If i click X i mean close the window.

It could indeed be a feature request, but as a default behavior on Windows, it is definitely a bug.

Especially since Anytype used to close normally.

Still the case in 0.25.0

Nope, for me it is solved as of 0.25.0

On Linux this is still an issue. When I use the X-Button on the top right, the window will close, but the anytype helper will keep going in the background forever, hammering the hard disk (whatever it’s doing there for hours and hours).

If I use the quit option in the anytype menu, the programme will shut down properly.
Using the close option in the file menu has the same effect, as clicking on the X-Button. It will keep going forever.

OS: Linux Mint 20.3 Una
Anytype 0.32.3 Appimage

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature. If you want to close the app completely, you will need to close it trough the menu bar (exactly how you explained it) or use the ctrl + Q shortcut. If you want an option to disable this, you can create a new FR if there isn’t one already.
