Text with changed formatting cannot be searched

What’s The Bug?

When the text is formatted as default it can be found with the search tool, but after its formatting is changed (bolded, italicized, color changed, etc.), it cannot be found with the search tool.

How To Reproduce It

  1. Change the text format (Bold)
  2. Search on page (Ctrl + F)
  3. The text whose format changed is not been found. The number of text searched by search tool decrease.

Confirmed.
Anytype v0.38, Win 10.

I have the same issue on Windows 11, v.38.0. It also doesn’t work when the searched word is on the page as an object

It appears they did it on purpose, but I don’t know why.


If you remove this filter.

Just came across this myself. It took me a moment to realize that the important point I made bold didn’t disappear, it’s only hidden from the search function. Quite frustrating. (Hn/background/bullet don’t seem to be an issue.)

This report has been added to our issue tracker and received by the Development Team.

This issue has been fixed by the Development Team and will be implemented in an upcoming release.
