Text attributes menu disturbs, because it stays open until you click it away. It even overlaps the widgets

What’s The Bug?

Not exactly a bug, but annoying behavior from that I suffer daily:
When yo select something in the editor, so that the text attributes menu appears, it stays until you click somewhere far enough away.

If you don’t do that click, the menu stays open, and that’s annoying.
The menu even stays when you open the widget menu. Then it overlaps one or two entries in the widgets.

How To Reproduce It

The Expected Behavior

I have a suggestion for a good solution:
Let the menu disappear when the mouse leaves the left or right, or the bottom border of the text attributes menu (maybe with 20-40 pixels clearance around the box, so that it doesn’t vanish unintended).
– Please try it, you’ll see that this would be a good solution.

Additional Context

Believe me: I suffer daily multiple times from that effect, because I need multiple times per day to copy some text parts and paste them into the web browser. Typically login data (first line: username, second line: password).
Every time when I do it, I wish the menu would disappear automatically when I leave the Anytype window, because after pasting the clipboard into the browser, I come direct back for copying the password in the next line. But when I come back, the text attributes menu is still open and covers the line with the password.

Maybe it doesn’t sound like a big problem to click that box away, but it disturbs my workflow in an annoying way 30 to 40 times every day, if not even more.

I think it would be helpful if the context menu closed after pressing Command + C (Ctrl + C).

Your suggestion would also help in case of my given example, yes. (I believe I even requested that long ago, but can’t find it anymore).

Nevertheless, I would prefer that the menu disappears when the mouse leaves itfar enough.
Because it would make the normal usage of text attributes easier.
If you for example make a text fragment cursive, you have again the effect that the box stays until you click it away. Automatic disappearing when the mouse leaves the box, would solve that.

I have fixed the auto-show sidebar behaviour and now this menu moves correctly with the sidebar. Regarding everything else - this is not a bug, so please create a separate topic and it’s highly debatable. I’ve checked Notion for example and the behaviour is the same.

This issue has been fixed by the Development Team and will be implemented in an upcoming release.
