WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
Currently, Anytype’s full-text search functionality for hieroglyphic languages like Chinese is incomplete, and there have been some discussions about this.
I understand that implementing word segmentation for all hieroglyphic languages can be a challenging task. However, I believe that literal string matching is a simpler and more reliable approach.
As a Chinese developer and note taker, I believe that segmentation is not a critical feature in most Chinese use cases. Most of the time, literal string matching is sufficient.
For example, in tools like VSCode or Obsidian, we primarily rely on literal string matching to search for Chinese content.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE?
In the Search pane, add a option to switch to literal string matching mode.
REAL WORLD USE CASES
VSCode、Obsidian(without jieba plugin)、Apple Notes
