I am running Anytype on Mac OS (14.2.1 Sonoma), Build 0.38.0 (Library version 0.30.12)
I got a bit into working more with “Human” types today to link a few of my projects with members and such.
Now when I created a link on a page to a person I am running into a strange bug.
When I am “too slow” and the hover information for the link already shows up (that the link links to a person), then clicking the link shows for a very short time the human link but then directly loads my starting page.
Even worse, the “back” button also just gets me back to the start page. Also clicking it multiple times.
When I am “fast enough” and click the link to the person before the hover information shows (you have to be quite quick for that!) then the link works and the page of the human opens.
I get that on every text where I marked the text and linked that to a person (have not yet tried all persons) reproducibly.
I could narrow the following down:
Double clicking on a human in a tags list consistently brings the to the human, so maybe it is restricted to links.
How To Reproduce It
generate a human and a page
write a text, mark it and link it to the human
move the mouse on the link to the human, a hover text shows up and informs one that the link is to a peson
click – I get consistently taken to the start page
press back button – one stays on the start page.
otherweise do 3 fast enough so the hover is not yet there → link to person works.
The Expected Behavior
The link always leads to the person and history/back button also keeps working

I am not so sure is the device ID maybe something very personal? I can also not easily copy from there since it would only mark the parts that are information and not the tags upfront

I played a bit around further: This also happens for other links, but only those, where you mark text, select “link” and then select an object. Again also only if the preview below shows, not if one is fast enough to click.
If I generate a /link link item on the same page for that link the error does not appear. So while that might change the text flow in the things I work on maybe that is for now the safer way to link stuff.
I did not yet have the time to create a few pages to do that, since I would prefer to not publish sensitive personal data. But I can try to find time. It really seems to mainly affect the links one can create by marking text, right click and following those links.
For now I just try to not use these but to use the @-inline links.
I tried for about an hour. It still happens on larger pages (where I slowly move to @ links since then it does not happen), but those I can not video since they contain sensible person data of other people.
On smaller examples (a single page with a linkt and a John Doe dummy person) I was not yet able to reproduce this.
So maybe this is resolved by not using the “Mark-text-and-link” to a person but using the @ inline links.
Appreciate the follow-up! We’re having trouble replicating the issue on our end too.
Could you try inserting a long chunk of randomly Latin text? Just copy and paste until it matches the size of your original documents. Maybe then you can reproduce the issue.
