WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND
Sets are given a new option indicating whether edges between them and their members (as shown in a single, selected view) are displayed in graph view.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE
The option would appear as a switch in the settings of each view. It may be that no view has the option enabled, in which case no additional edges are shown in graph view. It may also be that one view has the option enabled, in which case objects that satisfy that view’s filters are connected to the set in the graph view. If the option is enabled on one view, and the user enables it on another view, it is automatically disabled on the first view.
All set membership edges should be toggleable with a switch in the settings of the graph view.
REAL WORLD USE CASES
In my case, I have created a type Content Form, which captures content forms specified in the International Standard Bibliographic Description.
There aren’t that many of them, and I’d like them to appear as a star network in the graph view. I could achieve that with a collection, but then I would have to remember to add and subtract objects manually. I don’t want to do that, and that makes the set the appropriate tool… only that it won’t make a star.
This functionality would allow me to do that. This use case is generalizable to any set of small or medium size, especially sets with transient objects.
