New logo - seriously?

Now that WWDC25 is over, the amount of Liquid Glass that Apple implement is a little overkill in my preference. I can see how the glass look is going to be a prevalent design taste moving forward, but Apple just has too much glass UI imo. Maybe we’ll get used to it eventually.

I still think Craft.do used the glass texture perfectly with just nice of an amount in their app. I haven’t seen anyone else pulled off the glass texture better than how Craft did.

This was what I wrote previously about Craft:

Edit: totally forgot Raycast does the glassy look well too, not too much and just nice.

This is what I meant when I said the 3D glass that Apple is showcasing is overkill.

Maybe Apple is just using this to make a statement piece so people talk about it even though I doubt most people will use everything liquid glass. At least the app icons is something that we can choose to set how we like it to be. Liquid glass will look better with plain colors (like with Anytype, or note taking app), but not so much if the background is noisy like app icons above the photo wallpaper.

Anyhow, looking forward to see more and more apps implement some glass 3D into their design. Especially when the world is moving more to an augmented reality space in the next decade.

I’d have to say the symbol itself.. what originally hooked me to AnyType was the “Object Oriented” nature of the platform. The original symbol/icon feels like a natural reflection of that.. ‘objects on canvas’

Perhaps the new symbol will grow on me over time.. but the original is top notch in my opinion!
