This FR includes multiple suggestions. I combined them because they have the same use cases and they’re all Library enhancements. Hope that’s alright.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND
A better Library experience — Make it easier to spot the Type or Relation that you’re looking for by displaying more info in the Library such as:
- The number of objects using a Type or a Relation
- An indicator that the Type/Relation is new
- Last object created with that Type or assigned to that Relation
HOW COULD IT BE DONE
- Add a number beside the Type/Relation.
- Add a “New” tag/label on the upper-right corner of newly created Types and Relations.
- Display more context upon hovering on a Type/Relation. To me, creation date and recent object are the most important infos to display, but maybe the community have other ideas of what else to include.
REAL WORLD USE CASES
Library cleanup
When installing new types and checking out the accompanying templates, new relations are generated. Most of the time, I have no need for these relations or I would rather create my own. But the problem is I usually don’t even realize what relations I have activated, so I end up with new, empty relations cluttering my Library. With #1 and #2 suggestions, I can easily spot unwanted relations (they would be either empty/“0” or “New”) and delete them in my Library without having to open the relations one by one to check which ones are occupied.
Monitoring Types
This would help in checking which types are most commonly used. See how many objects are classified under each type.
General organization
Sometimes, after creating a set or collection, I’ll go to the Library to evaluate my new relations, see if there are others with similar names or usage. But once I’m there, I tend to forget what I’m looking for because I get overwhelmed with the long list in my Library, so it helps if I can get more context while scrolling.
