iOS / iPadOS use template when creating new object

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I do not think that this is a bug. It would be amazing when I create a new object on my phone or tablet of a certain custom type, it will automatically apply a template I created. Right now, no matter what type I select for a new object, it is always blank.

Describe the solution you’d like
The template of a type is automatically applied when creating a new object, similar to desktop version. When there are multiple templates for a particular type, I can imagine a pop-up window that allows a user to select a particular template. Or just automatically selecting the first template is fine as well.

Describe alternatives you’ve considered
Always create new object on desktop, then edit on mobile/tablet. But sometimes, this is not feasible.

Thank you for your request.
In the future alle plattforms should have feature parity. As that is being worked on, it’s not the case right now.
I added a a row to the feature parity overview to include “Create object using a Template”.

I’m pretty sure that Templates are now available on iOS. Can you confirm if that is true?

I don’t see a way to create an object with a template. The “Library” isn’t available and I don’t see an option inside a newly created object.

I’ve just tried out creating a new Object from a template, and it does appear it creates with a template - it just doesn’t ask. It also seems to ask which template the user wants to use if there are multiple.

I think it should be appropriate to close this issue as from my testing, new objects seem to be created with a template and even if that wasn’t the case, feature parity is planned.

How did you do it?
Just creating an object?

Yep - all I needed to do was to create a new object in a set. Maybe the behavior is different when creating from outside a Set perhaps?

Ah yes. From a set it works.
