WHAT IS THE BUG
When typing text, Anytype recognizes certain combinations of symbols (->, >=) and collapses them into unicode symbols (→, ≥).
When using `single backticks` to create an inline code block, the code block contains the collapsed symbol instead of the original text. This is highly undesirable, as ‘≥’ is not valid in most programming languages.
At the same time, ‘≥’ is perfectly valid to type into a code block if originally typed as that symbol, and not as a transformed version of ‘>=’.
And of course, the symbol collapsing is a nice feature in non-code text. It’s just code where it’s a problem.
HOW TO REPRODUCE IT
-
Type an opening backtick
-
Type out something that Anytype will recognize as a symbol, such as
-> -
Observe that the text got collapsed into →
-
Type the closing backtick
-
Observe that the text remains collapsed as →, and was not turned back into its original
->form.
THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Inline code blocks contain the text I typed, not something else.
