I really want to commit to Anytype... but some noob questions first

I’ve been evaluating a bunch of tools recently but keep coming back to Anytype. Why?

Speed
Can be used to store notes / knowledge base
Has a graph and flow view
Has a Kanban
Seems to have some basic CRM - I dont intend on a full on Salesforce thing, just tracking contacts I meet

But I can’t fully commit for these reasons, and I’d appreciate a clear response on how imminent these things are - the search here is throwing up contradictory messages:

Web clipper - I see it’s in Beta. Can I get access? Is there a rough production date?

iOS Graph / Flow View - the mobile apps are behind the desktop versions (fine) but if I’m on the road with my ipad, I’d really want to see graph view - is this imminent

Tables - I currently use Apple Notes and table implementation is poor. I don’t want databases, but I do want to be able to add new columns or rows or formatting very quickly. This takes maybe 5 steps on AT. Are improvements on the way or am I getting it wrong?

Quick Share from app (macos or ios) - the ability to at the very least share a PDF?

Canvas - any chance of a native Miro or Obsidian style canvas?

OCR - the ability to search within PDFs would be incredible but apprecoate it might be technically tricky

I really feel like Anytype CAN and WILL eat Notion’s dinner if dev cadence increases - rooting for you guys

Welcome to our community, @gypsymoth!

It needs exactly one mouseclick to add a new row or a new column.
Move the mouse to the table’s right or to the bottom and click on the “+”-symbol in the thick grey line.

Formatting a cell needs to mouseclicks and a bit mouse movement.

Thanks for the reply. To be clear, this was my experience on ios. I should have clarified that

Anyone else got any input?

Web clipper is now available on v.0.39.0 and you can download the chrome extension here.

While you cannot quick share from pdf to Anytype, if you manage to use chrome to open pdf, you can use web clipper to simulate something like that. It will be quite cumbersome though. Maybe support the file annotation feature request to have better workflow and perhaps OCR.

Canvas: See this feature request. It is currently tagged as improbable but it might come to live again with enough support :slightly_smiling_face:. Until then, you can embed a Miro block into Anytype.

Graph view on mobile is an acknowledged request. According to team, it is likely to be a simplified version. For now, use backlinks/links to or links to access linked/related objects. (You can favourite these relations at templates for easier access, if they are not pinned to top)

Hope Anytype will continue to draw your interests even if it is not fully what you expected yet. Anytype is surely a growing application

P.S. I don’t use table enough to give you any suggestions, but if you have any ideas on improvements, make features or join in current discussions on the forum, e.g. table, database, spreadsheet discussion

Thank for the helpful reply!
