Is there a way not to open a small window when creating/renaming an object in the collections menu? When using sets that doesn’t happen, instead
you just give it a name and nothing pops out. It's getting quite frustating to use collections instead of sets cuz of this.
Can’t reproduce. Which version are you using?
I’m using the latest version: 0.37.3
I took a video of it happening, maybe it’ll help you understand it
I would take a wild guess, that it is not due to being Set or Collection, but due to the collection using the “Note” type as default.
Can you try to change the collection default object to “Page” and try again?

After creating a new Object from an Inline Set, the new Object doesn’t directly open.
One sticks in the Inline Set’s grid.

And @sturdily - it happens not only for Notes. I have this peevy issue each day for Tasks.
can’t reproduce (using version 0.37.15-beta). Only popups up if using Notes or types with “Note Layout”. Tasks with “Action Layout” can be entered inline here on grid/list.
It happens for me everywhere and for all Objects I use!
It happens in Collections.
It happens in Inline-Sets.
It happens for Pages (in different Templates), for Human Objects, for Tasks.
It peeves me every day and many times more than only once per day!
Edit: It doesn’t happen for Notes. They open after entering the Name in the Grid.
I wish the other Objects would behave the same!
Ehem, I just have the impression, that you think the other way round then me.
What I WANT is that the Object OPENS after finishing it’s name in the Grid by pressing Enter.
What I get instead, is that the Object doesn’t open.
I stick in the Grid with it.
Yes, I can change all it’s Relations content in the Grid. Fine.
But to open the Object for doing a full edit, I have to do a click on it’s name in the Grid.
And I don’t like it!
After entering a new Objects name in the Grid and pressing Enter for finishing the name, I want the the Object opens either directly, or after a second press on Enter.
But what I not want is to move my right hand away from the keyboard, only for gripping the mouse and doing the dammed click on the name, so that it opens and I can write again.

Still can’t reproduce, although I’m on 0.37.15-beta. Also, I’m using the Task type as the default, if that helps.
Create a bug report if you can still reproduce it in 0.37.15-beta or in 0.38.0 when it comes out.
