Backlinks, Backlinks everywhere (but to one place)

What’s The Bug?

I’ve opened Anytype this morning and every object aside from me as the space member in the space has a backlink to my ‘Archive’ collection

How To Reproduce It

I’m not sure I can reproduce it, as seems to have happened upon starting Anytype this morning.

The Expected Behavior

For Anytype not to have added a backlink on every object to a collection that is my Archive.

Can you elaborate a bit what this archive collection is, how you use it, and how did you create it?

Moving to Bug Cemetery until the user replies.

Sorry, didn’t get a notification I had a response. The Archive collection I have I use as a repository for stuff I’ve worked on and completed and no longer need, from PARA.

It was initially a set which was converted type to a collection.

Did this happen after you converted it to a collection (from a set), or after?

This occurred after the conversion to a collection.

Collections use links to connect the objects to themselves, so that’s why everything was linked to this new collection after you’ve converted it.

Yes, but the conversion has put used backlinks which can not be deleted or edited like regular links. And not just to items that were already in the set, its put backlinks to every single item at that point in time.

What do you suggest to tidy this up? My graph looks like a starburst rather than a map at the moment.

You are unable to find these links anywhere? Seems like this bug then:

You can try reverting the collection object to a previous state using version history, but I have no idea if this will work with conversions. You could also delete the collection, but that is obviously not ideal.

For now, I recommend doing nothing, since I’ll be sending this into our internal tracker, and maybe someone from the dev team can help troubleshoot this.

This report has been added to our issue tracker and received by the Development Team.

Can you provide a screen-shot please?
