App immediately crashes when trying to enter vault

What’s The Bug?

When I try to enter in my recovery phrase (key), and enter my vault, the app unexpectedly crashes and puts me back to my homescreen. I have tried using the QR code, and it still doesn’t work. This only happened after updating it to the latest version.

How To Reproduce It

  1. Open the app
  2. Press the ‘I have a key’ button
  3. Enter your recovery phrase
  4. Press the ‘Enter my Vault’ button
  5. Wait a few seconds for it to load
  6. App crashes

After looking for other bug reports containing the same issue, I have seen one which appears to affect Samsung Galaxy’s A13 Android 14 as well. It appears I also have attached a different crash log than what was intended. The new log will be attached here in this reply.

Thank you! The go-team will look at it asap

This report has been added to our issue tracker and received by the Development Team.

Please update to the latest release, 0.33.27. It contains several important fixes for account startup issues.

As a user on the same device experiencing the exact same problem after having installed the update 0.33.28 the problem persists.

I apologise for bothering the team yet again, however, even after updating to the latest version (v0.33.28), trying to log in to the vault still produces the same error.

@Kayn , are you a member of the Local-First Lovers Club space? If so, please leave this space via the desktop app, and the mobile app should function correctly afterward. Unfortunately, there is an issue in this space with the Favourites object bloating, so it’s best to exit the space while our team works on resolving it.

I’m not in that space, I don’t even know what that is.

Currently, until the problem has been fixed, I’ve been using version 0.32.41 as this version and all the previous predecessors are the only versions that work for me.

Thank you for the information. I’ve passed the issue to the Go team and will try to get back with an answer soon.

Any progress?
stack.20241124.211149.3.log (7.2 KB)

Yes, we have updated the app version, which includes fixes for the app startup issue. Please update to version 0.33.35.

Please let us know if it helped or not (this fix is mainly targeted at devices running Android < 12). However, we are continuing to work on resolving the bug for all versions and expect a second fix in the coming days. I apologize for the inconvenience; the new version of a third-party library has caused us some issues.

Could you please provide your Analytics ID? We’re trying to locate the crash using it. You can find it on the About screen if you log in through the desktop version.

Unfortunately, this fix still hasn’t resolved the issue for me. The crash time is somehow faster now, with the loading speed only around a second before crashing.

I have updated and it still crashes. I also uninstalled and reinstalled a few times and no luck. I have Android 14.

The new release should help with startup crashes. It’s currently in the testing phase, and I will update you as soon as the exact release date is known.

Sadly it still has not worked for me, crashing as it has always been.

Can confirm, the newest 0.34.21 update is still crashing for me too
