A big release focused on speed, plus a long-awaited kanban board view and a bunch of fixes. If you juggle a lot of spaces, you’ll feel this one on launch.
Highlights
Much faster startup
This release does far less work at launch and loads things only when you actually need them. Spaces, chats, and members now load on demand instead of all at once, and the app opens straight into your last-used space — the more spaces you have, the bigger the difference. We also capped background maintenance to a memory limit and cut down what’s kept in memory at once, so you’ll see fewer slowdowns and crashes, especially on older iPhones.
Search on large accounts is faster and more reliable, objects with long edit histories open quicker, storage gets freed up when you leave a space, and scrolling feels smoother across chats, Sets, Collections, search, and the editor.
Fixed the battery/CPU spike after switching networks
If your phone ever got noticeably hot or drained fast right after switching between Wi-Fi and cellular — that was a real bug, and it’s fixed. Sync after a network change is now snappier overall, so your phone reconnects faster without the CPU spike that was causing the heat and battery drain. Combined with the startup fixes above, the app should just run noticeably cooler and lighter day to day.
Kanban (Board) view
The long-awaited board view for Sets and Collections has arrived! Group your objects into columns and see your data laid out visually.
Easier multi-block selection
Selecting multiple blocks is now much easier — just drag the caret across them. Combined with more precise mid-paragraph selection and cleaner paste behavior (no more stray blank blocks, and “Plain text” paste actually stays plain), editing should feel a lot smoother overall.
Invite sharing improvements
Invite links now stay private until the owner shares them, and can be toggled anytime — so sharing is more in your control. There’s also a new Admin role for shared spaces if you want to hand off more responsibility without giving up ownership.
Also improved
- More stable local (same-network) syncing
- Better copy & paste — precise mid-paragraph selection, no stray blank blocks, and “Plain text” paste no longer sneaks in formatting
- Bookmarks now show up in backlinks and the graph
- Widget settings (layout, limits, views) are now remembered
- The @ mention button is back in the keyboard toolbar
- New: space cleanup suggestions for orphaned and unused objects — nothing gets archived without your confirmation, and chats are never touched
- New: picture cover option for Gallery view
Fixes
- Fixed files getting stuck on “Syncing” after the upload actually finished
- Chat reliability: missed messages, stuck read receipts, inflated unread counts, blank previews, chats losing their name or messages, and a stuck send button on failed attachment uploads
- Invite links now behave consistently, and revoked invites clean up properly
- Fixed the Links & Backlinks panel sometimes appearing empty
- Fixed the “Current user” filter not working in Sets
- Fixed negative item counts on Set and Collection widgets
- Fixed spaces occasionally opening read-only after a cold start
Thanks as always for testing — let us know how the board view feels, and whether your phone’s running cooler now! ![]()
