AnyType for Zettlekasten

Hi y’all.

I want to use AnyType for the Zettlekasten method. Here is how I have managed so far based on this YouTube video:

  • Created a custom object type for fleeting notes (initial annotations) with custom note templates for notes
  • Created a custom object type for literature notes (summary/key points) with custom note templates for notes
  • Created a custom object type for permanent notes (organizing for an article to write) with custom map content template - this is where you link to the fleeting/lit notes and create the knowledge graph.

Here are my questions:

  • Is there a more efficient way to manage the custom object types/templates?
  • I am stuck on the permanent notes bit. I need to be able to setup bi-directional linking (i.e. in each of the notes, I need to be able to link to other notes). Then I need the knowledge graph to show the relations between fleeting, literature, and permanent notes. This is trivial in Obsidian using the [[Link]] notation, is there an equivalent?

I know this is vague, so I will try to clarify if folks have questions. Thanks in advance!

Oh, that’s interesting. I would like to visually see how you did it.

Hi @tisay, thanks for sharing your setup with us!

Not yet, unfortunately. There is a feature request for allowing updated/changed templates to be applied to existing Objects (in bulk).

There are feature requests for that, too!

You probably guessed by now that there are no built in solutions apart from doing this manually for now.
