A big release focused on speed, a new board view, and a long list of fixes. If you juggle a lot of spaces, you’ll feel this one on launch.
Highlights
Much faster startup
This release does far less work at launch and loads things only when you actually need them. Spaces, chats, and members now load on demand instead of all at once — the more spaces you have, the bigger the difference, and you reach your content and see chats sooner. Under the hood we reworked how events are handled (single ordered consumer, shared subscription parsing, buffered fan-out so one slow consumer can’t stall the rest), reduced redundant vault work, and fixed one-shot commands getting lost on cold start.
Kanban (Board) layout
You can now view your types, queries, and collections as a board — group objects into columns and see your data laid out visually. It’s on by default and comes with its own layout settings menu. We also cleaned up a bunch of board-specific issues (subscription leaks, empty-board rendering, stale headers, and a frozen header when returning from an object).
Invite sharing improvements
Reworked invites: owner-held invites, a share-within-space toggle, and the ability to reset an invite link. Invite links now behave more consistently overall.
Fixes
Fixed cursor not appearing in table cells
Fixed filter options not loading for custom Tag/Status relations
Fixed invisible select/multi-select options in data-view sets
Unified Tag cell rendering across Set views (Grid/Gallery now match List style)
Theme-aware text colors in grid object cells (better dark mode)
Show TypeSet recommended properties in Set/Collection settings
Fixed filtered collections and the Status property not appearing
Prevented text loss in empty blocks under concurrent edits
Share success banner’s “Open” action now actually opens the object
Fixed URL-paste behavior in the editor (placeholder/fork-aware)
Removed the dead legacy customize-view bar from Set/Collection
Under the hood
Broad performance fixes across vault, chat, discussions, editor, search, and dataview
Snappier sync after network changes — switching Wi-Fi/cellular or waking your device reconnects faster
Love it a lot too. It’s a great way to group tags. And then to sort objects accordingly.
@kaye May it be that in the query/collections-raster-view it is no longer possible to click on (back-)linked items in the table to open up the view on all (back-)linked items and maybe to choose which one to jump to?
Update: Ha, it never worked on mobile just on desktop. Which is too bad, cause I am 99% of the time on mobile.
Multi-select tags lose previous selections when filtering and selecting a new tag
When using the tag picker (multi-select) with the search/filter feature, previously selected tags that get filtered out of view are silently deselected upon closing the picker. This happens even though the user never intentionally unchecked them.
Another thing about multi-select tags is that since version 0.44.8, the UX has become really poor:
Selected tags in the mobile tag picker remain in their fixed list order instead of floating to the top. This forces users to scroll through the entire list to find out active selections, which is terrible behavior for long tag lists.
v0.42.15: Selected tags automatically floated to the top, always visible without scrolling.
v0.44.8+: Selected tags remain in fixed order. This is inconsistent with other multi-select fields in the app, and also inconsistent with the desktop version.
On my side pasting links doesn’t work anymore. When I paste a link “as a link” it gets inserted as plain text instead.
Is it just my phone or is it a bug in the app?
After the update my “Anytype Community” chat stopped working/syncing, am I the only one experiencing this issue?
I also noticed that bold text doesn’t get rendered if android’s bold text setting is turned on (other apps make bold text bolder when the setting is on, providing a way to correctly see highlighted words)
That is rather strange that only one channel is not syncing for you. Can you try leaving the channel and re-joining it to see if it triggers sync again?
0.49.0 is out. Mostly bug fixes based on your feedback in this thread, plus an important middleware update. Small release, but a solid one.

I am having the same issue with the Anytype Community chat not updating (on iOS running v0.48.3). It is working fine on my Windows PC. I get new message notifications on my phone, but the thread has not updated since Gleb’s post on 8/14 2:28PM - the sync spinner at the top just keeps spinning.
