Support for using WiFi Direct when available to sync with nearby devices, even when they are not connected to the same network
HOW COULD IT BE DONE?
Include support for Wifi Direct for sync, likely there are already libraries for that. Possibly with a toggle in the settings to disable for battery or security. It would probably define a second network interface to use in parallel
REAL WORLD USE CASES
When using a VPN for some devices or not all are allowed to connect to the same network, devices could still sync their data with nearby devices
RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES
For now creating a hotspot and connecting all devices to each other in a separate network is the workaround, but a local P2P sync would be way more seamless and comfortable
