Tons of Ghost Untitled object after update to 0.42.10

What’s The Bug?

After update to 0.42.10-alpha, I have a tons of “Untitled” object under a collection in one of my widget.

Here, “Les whiskys” are a collection.
But this collection contains only 5 objects.
In the widget, Whiskybvc seems to be in the bin???

And all Untitled doesn’t exists…

A problem with the refresh of the widget?
But previously it was ok, I just changed the anytype version without touching the collection or its objects!

Note that all image are broken too…

Return to 0.42.4 restore image and widget (except this object in the bin always here) :

This report has been added to our issue tracker and received by the Development Team.

Hi, @Shampra ! Is collection alright itself? The issue only with widget?

Considering broken image:

  • Did you upload this image manually or it was created after import?
  • Is this your first space? I mean the space which was created along with account?
  • Could you please open DevTools->Network tab and show error for request for this image?

For broken image :

  • they were manually uploaded several versions ago.

  • it’s not my first place and I’ve the same bug in each space

  • debug log say (with an url without file name??):
    http://127.0.0.1:60175/image/?width=1920 500 (Internal Server Error)

  • Image in gallery view seems ok, but if I open the objects I lost them (cached I suppose)
    anytype_capture

  • if I revert to an older version like 0.41.19-alpha here, everything is working again and the images are there :

  • I’ve always error 500 but not for image

  • and in the right clic menu, I can open image as image without any problem

And if I update again to latest version…

And for this, yes, it was only for widget, no problem with collection (excepts broken image).
With latest version 0.42.6, it’s seem ok.

… except that widget show deleted objects too, but I think there’s already another bug ticket for that.

Interesting, is there a chance that you added these images using import? I see Unique object key relation, the only way it to be appeared is file migration, which can be triggered by import (there was a bug, I fixed it in one of the recent version).

And please check your Bin in the latest version, I bet your broken images are there

No, it’s with copy from Internet.

  • I copy an image from web browser and CTRL+V to Anytype object
  • I choose this image in thumbnail (until we have a “from content” for gallery ;-)).
    Done

And yes, you win : all images are in the bin.
I deleted everything, put it back and it seems to stay ok.
And no more Unique object key

Thnaks, I suppose we can close this ticket?

Do you remember when you uploaded these images? Maybe in February?

Hmm… maybe January, like this post?

Thanks, it was long-living bug with unnecessary file object migration that showed itself only in one of the recent versions, because I turned this migration off and created script that put all these duplicated files to bin, unfortunately it affected your objects. Intention was to clean up mess the bug produced, I’m sorry that it’s affected your objects.

If you see any other Broken image blocks, please, tell me about it

This issue has been fixed by the Development Team and will be implemented in an upcoming release.

I’m not sure you guys also encountered this or not. But similarly I encountered this issue but I can’t pinpoint why is this happening. I have a pinned widget for my tasks and as you can see from the video, the task object itself is intact and I can interact with it. However, when I try to add an object with the plus button from the widget, I am faced with the ghost object screen.

I think it’s a different problem, you should open a ticket.
(and check if you default template for task is ok)

Oh… again, tons of untitled with 0.12.14-alpha :

I have a similar problem. My problem is that after the update (now it is 0.34.0), the owner of my personal (also the very first) space becomes “untitled,” and I can see an object with name “untitled” in my object list.

[Update UTC+2 10/25 21:46] The owner has been set back to myself, but the untitled object still exists and the error still occurs.

@Eiken How did you get your Untitled space owner back to yourself?

I have the same problem (pre-release 0.43.1): The space owner of all my spaces is Untitled, and it is not editable at all.

UPDATE: Never mind, I found out I simply need to edit the Personal information page in the preferences (I did not even change anything, just added and deleted a space character), and the space owner is now restored.

Yes I got it back. However, the “untitled” object still exists regardless of how many times I delete it.
