The current table object form supports cell merging functionality?

What do you need help with?

May I ask if the current table object form supports cell merging functionality? If it is not supported at the moment, is there a chance this feature will be introduced in the future? There is a strong need for it due to layout requirements.

Unfortunately no.

I guess it will become implemented at one uncertain point in future, but it seems to have no priority.
See the roadmap. It not even appears there, although such a feature was often requested.

Yes, this feature is so small that the developers didn’t pay much attention to it. But it’s actually very useful and helps keep pages clean and well-organized.

I really wish this comes with Editor 2.0

Although they hinted in the town hall that they think about making an Editor 2.0, I somehow doubt that they really do such a giant task (that unavoidable brings lots of new bugs).

But if they really do that, I hope only for one thing:
That print results are 1 to 1 equal to the layout on the screen!

(Recently I’ve had some discussion about what WYSIWYG means and not means. But for me and what I mean, it’s still WYSIWYG.)

I would more then appreciate if I could write all my letters direct in Anytype and print them 1 to 1.
It simply doesn’t make sense to use external software for that. I want to have all my stuff in Anytype, so that I can find it, sort and filter it, tag it, connect it with other things, and so on.

For most usual letters one doesn’t need the full functionality that Libre Office (Open Office) or Microsoft Word offers. Anytype’s functionality would be enough in most cases.
But what’s indispensable is the “simple” feature to see on paper exact the same result as on screen.

If the editor can do that, then Anytype will finally be suitable for office use, both privately and for small businesses.

I suggest to the team that they think, they would be forced to use no other software in their office then Anytype and a web browser.
If they have that thought in mind, then they will understand what’s needed.
