What’s The Bug?

After setting the Name/Title for a new object, it is no longer possible to specify a template.（新建对象设置文件名后无法再指定模板）

How To Reproduce It

1：New Object（新建对象）；
2：set a type of this Object or not change any type（修改或者不修改对象类型）；
3：you will see there are “N” template in this type of Object on the top of the editor（你会看到）；
4：set a Title/Name of this Object；
5：there is on longer possible to specify a template.The option on the top of the editor has disappeared.

The Expected Behavior

There should always be an option in the editor to choose to apply different templates.

Do you mind sharing a video of the issue? I’m unable to reproduce it. The template popup doesn’t go away for me if I change the title of the object.

Can we clarify this? Do you mean that after creating an object and inputting content to the object, you can no longer change its template?

If so, you might be trying to apply template to an existing object, which is currently still a feature request.

Apply Template to an Existing Object

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. I find myself too often making changes to a template. With this change, I would like to apply these template changes to existing objects. I have to do it manually for all my objects. Describe the solution you’d like Would be great to have a feature to apply changes to a template to existing objects. This option could be optional - depends on the end user if he/she wants to apply changes to the template to existing objects.

I would assume your reply is spot on…
It is confusing to new users, that once you create an object and use a template, the option to switch to another template goes away.
I too did not get it till I started to browse the forums here…

No need to elaborate; I am caught up on the limitations of the templates

If you click inside the editor, which seems like you did after entering the name for the object, the template selector disappears. Just changing the name doesn’t make it disappear in the latest version.
