I would also love it if we can configure a webhook to forward notifications to (e.g. ntfy.sh), so that we can forward notifications to other devices with a simple HTTP request.
Hello @ignatovv I am currently using ClickUp but am contemplating a shift to Anytype because it seems much cleaner. However, the only thing holding me back is the absence of a notification system for both PC and mobile. I checked your roadmap on GitHub and did not find any mention of notifications. Could you provide a rough estimate of when the notification system will be introduced to assist me in making this decision?
Hey guys! Any updates on the notification system? Would really like to move from TickTick and have the tasks alongside my other notes in Anytype. Cheers!
I find it very useful to remind me to reread some notes or to start working on some task.
I agree, also Alarms (basically reminders with longer sounds that can play even while the phone’s in silent) can be added.
I wrote down my hope for a flexible reminder system and the importance of how easy to miss notifications can be here. I don’t want to spam, so I’m not reposting it here, but I’m not 100% sure how the feature requests are handled by the developers, so I want to make sure, that my two cents are connected to this feature request as well.
I didn’t know I needed this but then I started using Notion a couple of weeks ago where I could add reminders to my notes and now I can’t live without it anymore.
@AxGD: I hope your mention of the other feature request (“Larger proposal…”) was not meant to close this one. The other one also focuses on how notifications should be handled in general and this one here focuses on a functionality that is using notifications. I wasn’t sure if I’m necro’ing a closed thread here but now I simply went ahead and tried. Let me know if I did something wrong ![]()
I completely agree with you. I think that’s a great idea that could help improve many people’s workflows.
Great Input!
Hey there, when can we expect this feature? It’s ranked 13th on the most wanted features list, but I can’t see it on the roadmap. Will we get it any time soon?
+1 I have to use Google to give me a reminder to check Anytype each day, and allowing for such a feature in Anytype would help me remove my reliance on other software.
Notifications can be expected in 2024, though no specifics (Q3/Q4?) were mentioned. Still waiting for the updated roadmap to go live.
I really hope the Anyteam can implement this not long after the Chat notification get released soon. So I can type @remind next tue 945am to get a notification on Tuesday of the next week at 9:45am, or @remind april 6 12pm to get a notification on April 6th at 12pm. Works with tomorrow as well. If there are no specified time, then the reminder defaults to triggering the notification at 9am for that day. The notification would show the text for that block on the phone’s lock screen notification.
The lack of a reminders feature is only 1 of the 3 things preventing me from migrating fully to Anytype for now; the other 2 being Transclusion and Derived Relations (Simple Formulas). I’ll be be super excited the day these three are implemented and be moving over fully into Anytype and telling everyone else about it.
Some things that might need to be addressed when this is implemented:
-
Currently we have notification like export successful, this type of notification pop up at the bottom right corner at every opened window. Thus, to exit the notification content, we need to repeatedly click cross on all windows.
–This happens because each window is an individual instance of Anytype.
– The more windows we are using, the more notification pop-ups needs to be managed. -
Also, notification currently shows up above another notification. The latest notification comes on top, which is good to avoid overwhelming notifications but might not be the best for time-sensitive or equally important notifications.
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
Notification printing, maybe a Notifications widget. When using @date, add Reminder option, allowing you to adjust the date and time when the reminder will be triggered.
The add reminders function can use this space delimited in red.
REAL WORLD USE CASES
Imagine that you have scheduled a doctor for 08:00 am on 04/27/2025. You can easily create a quick note and add a reminder until you can schedule yourself better and take the time to write it down somewhere else that is more appropriate.
Agree with having a reminders feature. There is a Feature Request for this already from 4+ years ago. This is one the very main thing that’s preventing me from moving fully into Anytype. Here is what I suggested in the main feature request.
Can’t wait for this feature!
Agree with having a reminders feature.
When using @date, add Reminder option, allowing you to adjust the date and time when the reminder will be triggered.
Initially, a widget for reminders would be very good. This widget would act as a “filter” in which it only displays objects with expired dates and times based on today’s date and current time.
I totally agree, when will this ever be addressed? It is a pretty old and standard request, what is the reason for it not being implemented yet? Are there any complications, is it not important enough or what exactly is it. Maybe the community can help?
Many feature requests are currently on hold as the team is prioritizing bug fixes and overall software stability. Read this: Editor (and overall software) quality – some priority here, please? - #74 by anton
