WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

First of all, I love Anytype and I’m amazed by how many things you get right. However: When opening the app the first thing that happens is sync and it renders the app useless. I can’t even select the workspace because I’ll be redirected to workspace selection after sync is done = negative progress. Sync can take a long time and by then I’m losing my train of thought - often to „what alternatives are out there?“ but mostly „are they using their own app at all?“. The worst is that this happens by default even if the index hasn’t changed or if I want to continue editing an object that I edited just a moment ago on the same device. And I can’t switch to another app because if I leave Anytype unattended it will start all over again next time I’m opening it.
I assume the original implementation was done with some version of LRU caching in mind. But in this case I strongly advocate to subordinate the theoretic optimum to the reality of sync delays. Sometimes people just want to write something down.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE?

Sync in the background while allowing user interaction; bonus if sync takes place with the app closed but I can accept if that isn’t possible due to the encryption stuff you have going on. Usually I just want to write down a thought or look up a page, most of which will not be the very same I’ve edited on my computer right before that. For search you can optionally show that sync is not complete and that items that haven’t been synced won’t show up.
