WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
I want to enhance linking usability, and I wonder where there are some frictions in my workflow.
I usually add links in two ways:
- Enter @ and write down the text (e.g.
@backlink), select the related one with up/down arrow, and press enter. - Write down the paragraph as a whole (or paste it from another space), and modify some words with links. For example,
- I write down the line
Big backlink, - move the cursor in front of
b, - enter
@, - move the cursor with an right arrow key to end of the word
backlink - find the word with up/down arrow
- select it
- and boom! you have
<u>backlink</u> backlinksituation.

This requires too much interaction and hand movement, which disrupts my productivity. I want these sequences to be simplified.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE?
For personal opinion, there are some features that could improve these situations:
- Preselect the first one: when you write down @backlink, you should move your hand to the arrow key to select the first one. If Anytype preselects the first one, I can just press enter to build backlink. Quite small, but solid improvements in efficiency.
- Support [[ for linking
Give an option to use brackets (like[[backlink]]). I see Anytype already has the ability to add brackets in front & back of the selected word. Linking it to the backlink feature would work fine. - Or at least, do not make a duplication of the word in the second case.
ADDITIONAL CONTEXT
I love and use anytype all day, but linking has a lot of friction right now. If you value links and interconnection between objects, please enhance the linking feature
