What’s The Bug?
Images included in objects (pages, notes, etc.) created on PC (Windows or Linux) do not synchronize and display on Android devices during initial sync.
The images are ignored until the user manually opens each object containing images on their Android device. Only after this manual intervention do the images appear and remain accessible, even after restarts.
How To Reproduce It
Create an object (such as a page or note) on a PC (Windows or Linux) and include one or more images within it.
Sync the object with your Anytype account in any mode (Anytype server, local mode, or self-hosted).
Open Anytype on your Android device and wait for the synchronization to complete.
Observe that the images do not appear in the object on Android until you manually open the object and let the images load.
Note: Images remain visible after loading and restarting the app, but only after manual loading.
The Expected Behavior
Images included in objects should be synchronized and loaded automatically on Android devices soon after sync completion—without requiring manual opening of each object.
Additional Context
Impact: This issue is particularly problematic for users with large collections of objects (hundreds or thousands), as each must be manually opened for images to load.
Use Case Example: After exporting a space in protonpruf format and importing it into a new Anytype ID or space, users must manually open each object with images to load them—an unproductive and time-consuming process.
Bug Fix Status: A previous fix was attempted, but the issue persists.
Additional Context
In summary, images will only load if you are currently online or have an active connection to the relevant device. If you are offline or disconnected, you must open each object containing images ahead of time for them to load and remain available.
