How to add an object in a query using a template without changing the default template?

What do you need help with?

Is it possible to add a new object from inside a query using one of the available templates without making that template a default? I see that I can create a new object using the New button. That will use the default template. I can also click on the arrow next to New and select a template, but that will also change the default. This essentially renders templates useless, since it requires always changing back to the default one. What am I missing?

Hey, thank you for reporting this. It seems that this feature is bugged at the moment. I’ve logged it on our tracker.

Could you please comment on the priority of this bug? It makes it impossible to create objects using templates at the moment. This is an important feature.
