Highlight Current Object in Sidebar

Hi,

is there a way to highlight the page in the sidebar that is actually opened?

In this screenshot I would like to have the page “Advanced” highlighted, so I better know, that this page is currently selected.
Is there an option for this?

Hi, @Amerlander thanks for your post and welcome to the Community!

Unfortunately, it’s not an option to highlight the current Object in Sidebar.

This is a cool Feature Request though. I will move your topic to that category so others can vote on it!

Thanks!

Thank you for your reply and for moving the toppic.

If I remember corectly this was already implemented in the old windows App. Its a while ago, but I found this Screenshot in the forum where in Anytype 0.24.0 all “notes” objects are highligted in the navigation bar: Anytype Desktop 0.24.0. Sidebar - #12 by Diego

This is a great idea!

Imagine using Anytype as a public knowledge base or documentation hub like gitbook or like static docu pages generated with docosaurus or similar I think this function is highly required.
On those sites you always see, which page is open at the moment. In addition a small “breadcrumb” navigation bar would be nice as well. (but more as a history bar as discusse here: Show Navigation History as Breadcrumb)

So +1 from my side! :+1:

It’s a small change that can improve readability and UX.
But there are so many small improvements and so few votes.

No more votes but “+1”

I really like the new options for displaying the left sidebar - either as widgets or as links - and I prefer the link view.
I would also appreciate it - for the sake of clarity - if the link to the currently active object were highlighted, just as it is for the channels sidebar.

This. And I would add for my own usage that this feature inside widget-trees would be extra helpful.

I frequently import folders full of markdown and read through them. When I’m clicking through documents on the sidebar, it’s easy to lose track of which one I clicked on last, and have to read all the titles to work out which one I have selected. A simple light highlight of the currently open document (page) would make this experience much much better.
