WHAT IS THE BUG
While typing notes, using formatting keyboard shortcuts (cmd+B for bold, cmd+I for italics, etc.) do not work unless you pause and highlight the text after you type it. Almost all major editors (including this Community Forum text editor, and all your major competitors) have this standard keyboard shortcut working as intended to prevent disruption of typing and workflow.
HOW TO REPRODUCE IT
- On any page/object, type some notes and press Cmd/Ctrl+B or Cmd/Ctrl+I or Cmd/Ctrl+U, etc. while typing to attempt to format without taking fingers off the keyboard while typing.
THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
After pressing the formatting keyboard shortcut, any text that follows should have that text formatting applied. Pausing to highlight text first should not be required and is a disruption to workflow. This Community Forum and all your competitors work properly like this already.

Others have reported this all the way back in 2024 and it’s still not addressed, and the thread was closed.
