What if Anytype had a local standard-folder that fits into the appropriate location for all supported OSs and could act as a qualified file mananger, too?
So if you had hundreds of pictures of your photo album, you could make a subfolder called photo album and put all pictures in there.
Anytype could scan the folder and add connecting objects automatically. However, the path saved would only be the relative path.
If the underlying files would be copied to other OS-clients in the right file-folder, the respective local client could execute a link to the respective file right away.
If the file was missing, there would be an appropriate information message.
Even better: An option to sync those local files automatically via anytype without uploading them to the vault themselves, but only keeping the connected file-objects in the vault plus the files in the OS’ file system.
For active clients in the same local network, there would of even be no need to sync them over the antype network but local only. No traffic cost for the anytype-network. Like Syncthing, only much better.
Anytype could keep the hashes of every file to guarantee that the files are identical.
This could be combined with the possibility to file a request to sync a certain file that is needed by another client or user if not all the files are synced already. Could be helpful for mobile users that don’t want to have all the files in their system.
The possibilities could be endless and anytype could evolve truly to an everything app. 
One of the new use cases:
Have a specific local only vault just for managing all files on your desctop or mobile. No sync needed, but you get a file manager with queries, collections and tags. 
(The Lobby could be of great help here, too. In combination with the lobby, the file manager vault could be a standard option for anytype users.)
