If we can really only have one kind of role for guests, that more or less limits the utility of the system as a collaboration environment. Do I misunderstand this mechanism, or is it just that you can only invite one kind of user at a time because maintaining multiple invite links or generating individual magic links for specific users would be too much of a pain to implement?
So far I find the UX pretty perplexing, but I’m sure I’ll figure it out. Whether the kind of “business guys” I need to support will be able grok it is another question, I’ll make a more detailed post about this after I actually figure things out myself, but just want to mention that it is a bit baffling to guy who has been using similar system for decades now (I am old).
Thanks much for any input I can get, and fwiw, I’ll definitely be getting a membership to support ongoing development regardless, and thanks for the very smart (imho) approach to licensing. Really nice model. The invite model as of now can’t really support my business environment, but I’m sure that’ll get tuned up over time.
I consider myself to be in your ranks, age-wise. So, what exactly do you find perplexing?
Note that the beginner perspective is pure gold for improving the UX. Mine has worn off and I’m more-or-less used to the quirks of the app(s) as well as the core concepts. Wish I wrote down a longer summary after my second migration. It would probably be helpful for someone as I had issues I never expected (working with Markdown should be simple, right?).
In any case, if you can be more specific, we can spoil you with some usage tips.
I think the main thing that through me off so far around the invite links and only being able to have one invite link with one role at a time. As a rule, I’m not a fan of “link only” type invite systems, and I must not fully grasp the mechanism. One (I hope big) compliment I want to pay everyone involved, however, is how response the app is. There are lots of aspects of Anytype I’m excited to get comfortable with.
Thanks much for you reply, and sorry for my slow response~
