Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I’m a Notion poweruser, and one key feature for me that’s missing in Anytype is the ability to create “Embed blocks” that can include any webpage inside my Anytype pages.
Describe the solution you’d like
Basically the same thing Notion has. A block (/embed) that can show a complete webpage, and that can be resized both vertically and horizontally
Describe the bug
The paste link of music from Netease Music, Spotify, and Apple Music is not working. After pasting the link, it will show a messy code. It does not show the song’s name. For video, it just cannot be played.
It should display the song’s and author’s name after pasting the link. It should be the same as the uploaded one.
- OS: BigSur, 11.4
- Device Manufacturer/Model: MacBook Pro 2017 (has touchbar)
- Anytype Version: e.g. 0.22.3
@billyxpz Thank you for your notice! We haven’t implemented this yet, but plan to do that in the future
Hi @nikm07. Could you please share a couple of ideas to help us to understand the ways you use embers and why is it crucial for your daily usage. It will help us understand your needs and overall use case better.
This would be a a great feature to have. For example, I like to save down references to posts (eg LinkedIn)
You can select a post in LinkedIn and get he embeded code:
Ideally, you then go to AnyType and insert this as a new page so you can then tag it and reference it easily.
Here is an example:
How to Embed a LinkedIn Post on a Notion Page (loom.com)
This feature would allow notion embedded widget services like https://indify.co to be used in AnyType. Huge +1 for me.
Using Anytype as an architect - it would be great to be able to connect Speckle with Anytype. An example of this is being able to embed the Speckle 3D viewer on a page (as can be done in Notion).
@ignatovv any ETA fot this? It is rally useful feature already existing in other apps like Notion, Obsidian etc.
- it would let us save a place - e.g. instead of download image would be nice to add online preview of it
Hello, we could provide more precise estimations on all features after public release
In my Notion, I have a stopwatch widget I use to keep track of my study sessions. I also have a toggle which reveals an embed from which I can play music, and also an embed for Desmos, and a toggle for seeing all my tasks for that day. This feature is essential for me, and I believe it should be added.
Maps, Excel spreadsheets, etc… all of these should be embeddable.
I’d like to embed my Nextcloud calendar. I’d rather keep my tasks and notes in Anytype instead of moving them to Nextcloud, but I also prefer to see calendar events and tasks on the same page
WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND
Ability for Anytype users to see preview of pasted links within Object.
See differences between Notion/Anytype @ ADDITIONAL CONTEXT at bottom of the query.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE
- Content Previewed when link is inserted or when a bookmark is created.
- Ability for users to toggle between “Link only” or “Preview Content (Embed)” when hovered on top of previewed content.
REAL WORLD USE CASES
Not sure of the technical process, but for instance it would be nice to see a Tweet/Youtube/Webpages/Articles previewed and able to be controlled (basic scrolls and clicks) within Anytype.
It should be implemented so that it has more intuitive control and minimizes the need to jump from Anytype to browser every time.
None that I’m aware of, if there’s a way let me know.
Content view in Notion:
Ex. Inserting Twitter Link
It would be nice if this could be implemented somehow.
@Shampra Not sure of your intent w the mention but I appreciate you bringing it into light.
Didn’t see that, haha.
It’s been 2 years since the original post, they haven’t implemented it yet or isn’t in progress yet is it?
@adore I try to share existing Feature Request when there are any. The more votes an FR has, the more likely it is to be considered. So, if we open multiple topics for the same request, it will receive fewer votes and be less visible ;-). Don’t hesitate to search for and vote on existing ones, even if they’re old (and add a reply to bump the topic).
For this particular request, during the last Town Hall, the team announced that it would happen soon (in the next release or the one after, I hope).
Beautiful! I appreciate you.
Glad to hear that it’s going to be implemented.
Thanks for your help @Shampra
