Display Multi‑Day Events (Date Ranges in Calendar View)

Hello dear Anytype team,

I have been using Anytype for some time now with the Plus Annual Plan because I really like the app overall. I chose the annual subscription because I saw that you frequently release updates and I hoped that you would continue improving the Calendar as part of those updates.

Everything is great, but the Calendar still cannot handle some very basic things. I would already be happy if it could simply display date ranges in the calendar view. Even the simplest events, such as school holidays or business trips, cannot be shown properly. I don’t understand why such a fundamental feature is still missing.

Is this planned for the future, or will I be waiting for it in vain? I also can’t imagine that I’m the only one who needs this functionality.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. This is planned for the future but not in the next release. This feature, along with timeline view, are noted to be highly requested features by the community.

Do you an idea of the release ?

Unfortunately, not at this stage.

Hello,

This may be a silly q, but how do you set up a calendar? I’m trying to plan a home page with a calendar and have no idea how to do so.

Thanks!

Here is a great start, take a look at the Views page in our documentation. In short:

  1. Pick a Type that you want to create a calendar for, such as Tasks, Events, etc.
  2. Add a date property and fill it out on your objects.
  3. Create a View with the Calendar layout.
  4. In the layout settings, select your defined date property.
  5. Then you can add any filters or sorts that you’d like.

You can then take this View and either add it to your sidebar as a Widget, or you can add an inline query on a homepage document. @Scrabble

Wow! Thanks Kaye. I can’t believe I missed that :woman_facepalming: - had seen that kanban was available early on and then just stuck to lists. Thank you - this will be interesting to explore.
