Custom commands

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND

Tana Commands let you set up a string of automated actions inside Tana, and then executing them via :radio_button: buttons or :keyboard: the command line.

Most of what you can do manually in Tana can also be executed as part of a command. You can kind of thing of them as user macros. You can add tags, set relation values and many many other things. These can all also be executed in whatever order you want them to be.
The buttons can be set up to appear next to either specific nodes (AT object) or per supertag (AT type). That way you can pin certain commands that you use often to the relevant types.

HOW COULD IT BE DONE

Since Anytype is not Tana, things would need to be implemented a bit differently in AT.

REAL WORLD USE CASES

There are so many use cases. If you want to check some of the commands people have already came up with, I recommend checking out the Tana Slack.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

Example of a command builder from Tana:

I realize that this suggestion is over a year old at this point, but would like to bump it for consideration again. Here’s another use case, one that I use very frequently: I’ve got a workflow for flashcards where I’ve created a custom “Flashcard” type. My normal workflow is to type the flashcard “question”, then to click out, right click on the text, choose “Turn into Object,” and then “Flashcard.” It would be really nice to have a macro that did something like this automatically so that I could just hit a key combo immediately after typing some text.
