Anytype windows completely black after Mac switches to dark mode, sleeps, and auto-switches to light mode next morning

What’s The Bug?

I observe a really weird bug:

My Mac is set to automatically switch between light and dark theme depending on the time of day.
Now, when I use the Mac in the evening (dark mode) and open it the next morning (when it automatically switches back to light mode), all Anytype windows are completely black.
The only fix is to restart Anytype.

How To Reproduce It

  1. Set macOS to automatically toggle light and dark modes based on daytime
  2. Use Anytype in the evening when the Mac is in dark mode
  3. Put the Mac to sleep
  4. In the next morning, wake up the Mac
  5. It will switch back to light mode
  6. Switch to Anytype (if it is not already in the foreground)
  7. Observe that all open Anytype windows are completely black

Indeed, sounds very similar!

Searching for “system theme”, “dark”, “light” apparently wasn’t enough…

no worries

perhaps it’s a different issue as the devs marked mine as solved. I just linked it here in case it’s useful for the team as a starting point.

Has this issue been solved for you in the latest alpha / pre-release versions?

This report has been added to our issue tracker and received by the Development Team.

I’ll have to test this with a pre-release version. As I have no better repro steps than the ones I described (that include waiting until next morning), it might take a while to confirm

This issue has been fixed by the Development Team and will be implemented in an upcoming release.
