Greetings, Anytype Android community! We’re beyond excited to bring you our most anticipated release of 2024: the Multiplayer Release!
With this update, you can now share spaces with your friends, family, and communities…and never have to worry that content you’ve created will be surveilled, blocked, or leaked.
From today onward, we warmly welcome you to begin testing out shared spaces, starting with the small things: idea boards, shopping lists, projects, and wikis.
If you need inspiration, you can always check the Collaboration Experiences newly added to the Experience Gallery (or submit your own!).
We can’t wait to see what you’ll create, and look forward to this new, networked era of Anytype.
NEW FEATURES
Multiplayer: Now Live on Android
Multiplayer is LIVE - you can give it a spin by tapping the Space Settings menu of one of your spaces (excluding your Entry space). From there, you’ll see the option to Share Space in your Space settings. By doing so, you’ll generate an invite link for the Space, which can be sent to anyone.
Once they click the link and request to join your Space, you’ll receive a notification prompting you to add this person as an Editor, Viewer, or to reject the request entirely. Editors have edit access to all objects within the Space, while Viewers have read-only access to all objects within the space.
As a Space owner, it is possible to share up to three Spaces at this time. You can manage the roles of guests you have invited to your Space, or remove them altogether. Guests who have been removed from a space will receive a notification that they have been removed from the Space, and will see an option to export the contents of the Space.
Experience Gallery Installation Now Supported
It’s now possible to import experiences from the ANY Experience Gallery on Android! Simply tap the link to begin browsing experiences lovingly created by fellow Anytypers, or create your own mobile-first experiences to contribute to the Gallery.
IMPROVEMENTS
— Support for Network Name now on Android
As Memberships have been introduced with this release (currently purchasable on Desktop only), those of you with Builder or Co-Creator memberships will now see your Network Name reflected in your Profile and Space Settings, instead of your Anytype ID.
— Files-as-Objects: File Visibility in link-to and @ mentions
When using the /Link-to and /@ commands, you’ll now see files & media as options in the object selection menu.
— Backlinks Open on Single Tap
Backlinked objects now open on a single tap from the Featured Relations or Relations menu.
— All File & Media Objects Can Now be Opened as Objects
Whether video, audio, image, file or PDF, it’s now possible to open all file/media as objects, and edit the title and relations.
— Global search results limited to 50 objects
For optimized search results, the number of objects displayed in global search results has been limited to 50.
