Allow formatting within text-type relations

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND

As the title suggests, I’d like to be able to add formatting (bold & italics for starts, ideally also bullet points, and background color) within the contents of a text-type relation

HOW COULD IT BE DONE

Allow the formatting within the textual content of a relation just like any other text, either with keyboard shortcuts, right-clicking menu, and markdown.

REAL WORLD USE CASES

I created a “summary” relation for my pages to enable a quick review directly from a set, without opening each page individually. I’d like to “highlight” (with text formatting) key words within the summary, have lists, etc.

RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES

No real alternative for the FR, but for my use-case another solution would be the ability to link to blocks/transclusion. Were it possible, I’d have my “Summary” block (not sure how that would be tagged) and then have that show for each page in the set (not sure how that would work).

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

My use-case of wanting to show only the “summary” of individual pages within a set can easily be translated into other use-cases, but text-relation formatting is something I’ve been bumping into also in other situations. Having only plaintext is pretty limiting for usability.

Agree.
It would be really useful to create form.
