Hi,
I was using Anytype for the last half year trying to use it as a habit for keeping my information.
Now it seems you updated something and most of my data is gone?
Hm, why was it uninstalled then? I did not uninstall it. How can that a have happened that it was removed?
But Library – I would not have guessed that from someone reporting I should look in the Marketplace. Why are there different words used that mean something different?
Also the Task type is installed, so it is not the point that the task type was uninstalled.
See the [other thread}(Personal space name broken? - #5 by kellertuer) yes I did. Actually deleting the list of tasks and setting it up again is a solution to this, but I would prefer to know how often I have then to reset my lists? I am using this to store my knowledge – if I have to re-setup everything ever so often, I can also return to physical papers.
That’s why I would like to understand how this happened more closely.
Just clicking on the query and re-adding the task type should’ve worked. If you are regularly updating your app, this shouldn’t be a problem (from your other post, you were quite out of date).
Yes it seems I was. The plain reason is that usually the app reported when there was an update available, but it seems that did not happen recently So I will probably additionally manually trigger updates then from now on.
Usually we get complaints that the users receive way too many update notifications.
We try to release a bigger update once a month, so you can try and check at least once a month to make sure you are up to date.
I seem to have not gotten any update notification since 0.34, so I am complaining maybe more about not getting them.
And for the releases – it seems they break old running versions? That is also not that cool.
But sure I will just make sure to stay more up to date then.
Usually everything works fine. If something is changed, the team creates proper migration flows. WE can’t really know what happened for sure without your Anytype ID (too late now since you already updated and changed everything that was messed up).
In that case it’d be great if the user had some indication that the data is being migrated and the app would have a progress bar and block interaction until it’s done.
You are right that the user is unclear about what’s happening. However, it needs to be clarified that “migration” is just my speculation and requires confirmation from the developers.
