There should be an option for mobile apps (iOS and Android) to add “Properties view” with the options “line” and “list”, similar to desktop. It would make sense if this would also sync with the desktop version.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE?
When setting “layout” for a particular query or object type, there could be two options:
“Type” with the expected options (Note, Basic, Profile, and Task)
“Properties view” with the expected options to match desktop (Line, List)
The “Type” is already synced, so it would make sense for “Properties view” to also be synced. Adding a screenshot here to reference where i’m talking about:
This benefits the mobile user because they can see their properties more clearly. I have some similar property values, so sometimes I have two properties with similar names and I can’t tell them apart.
ADDITIONAL CONTEXT
It would make sense if this worked on both Android and iOS. I only have iOS, but i’m assuming this hasn’t been implemented there.
I think this may be a similar post, but it’s hard for me to tell, so I figured I’d post this just in case.
You could probably also include “Header position” in this request, but to be honest, I don’t care as much about that
We do have a property view for object on mobile, although it might be a bit hidden, and some things might be buggy at times… is the current implementation enough for you?
That list is not quite what i’m referring to. I’m thinking that instead of something like this inline text, it gets converted to a list of properties. So in the example you provided, “Page • 1 backlink” would be on their own lines, like they can be on desktop
While this isn’t difficult to do, it is a bit of a design decision. Having long lists of properties that you have to scroll through on mobile is typically not ideal, given that you already have to do a lot of scrolling.
Adding this feature would effectively make list layout on desktop also replicated on mobile—which may not be what a lot of users want. If this feature request picks up a lot of steam, we can certainly consider it.
I understand. Unfortunately I do think if you were to enable this feature, it would have to be synced with desktop since that would be in line with the other properties.
As you can see in my screenshot above, having all those properties listed inline on mobile feels like a lot, so I’m just looking for an alternative way to have all that information displayed.
Yes, I agree it’s not ideal to display so many inline. At the same time, it feels not so ideal to display all of that stacked as a list on mobile as well. We’ll have to think about the design solution for this.
