ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

This is a great suggestion, though in my opinion @time too broad of a term, as time refers to all time/any time. I like the use of @now to get the current time and would probably be a more accurate word to get the current time too. Notion and some other apps also uses @now to get the current time and date.

I also believe it’s good to have the date included together with the time, e.g. @now will give “May 27th, 2025 11:18AM”. This way when typing @now on any object (not just journal entries, but meetings etc), it can tie that object back to the date object in Anytype’s calendar and create a backlink. I’m not sure how it’ll work if it’s just the time without the date as where would that link to. Also, if I want to only write the time without tying it to any objects to create backlinks, than I’d probably just manually write how the time. I can’t think of a use case where I would only use the current time without the date when typing @now, maybe I’m missing something.

This date and time format will also tie very nicely into implementing the Reminders feature request. I feel Notion does this fantastically.

Since people already tie diary entry to the date, specifying the current time only would be very nice. I think that only applies to diary entry and everything else having else having both date and time is handy.
And yes, @now seems to be a more appropriate shortkey.
