Hi, Filip! Since you’re on, do you mind addressing this: Content wrap in Sets - #34 by Gentlefox
It is in apps like Notion, but I would love to move away from Google Sheets (which we only use for simple operations) for our financial documents and this is a simple table kind of situation. To be honest, simple tables need some love more generally ![]()
I missed the whole meeting…is there a link to watch it?
Thank you!
There will be. It will just take a little time to process the recording. The link will be posted here, most likely.
yes, please! Before everyone goes home for the weekend. ![]()
I so agree!
I’m surprised it’s not more in demand.
For the sums, I’m not asking, but at least be able to put in richer content (images, lists, etc.).
Other note-taking tools can do it…
Sums/counting are rarer (and not necessary for me).
I often find myself having to open Calc/Excel to make simple tables, and it saddens me every time.
Evernote has found a trick: it integrates Excel tables.
But here, we have an all-or-nothing policy: either bases/lists/collections that also impose a title per item, a collection title, view titles, buttons, limited possibilities for images, no background colors,…
Or a simple table that’s just a grid and text (but avoids anything superfluous and allows background color).
Such a shame ![]()
There are some cool updates, and I am looking forward to them, thank you! I wanted to do an Any Case post on how I use Anytype, but I decided to wait for the next update in case it changes things (which it does :D).
Regarding simple formulas, are there plans to introduce them into relations and templates, or is this limited to Sets and Collections for now? For example, I would like to have a @Today formula in my templates so that the creation date is filled in when I create them. Eg. sometimes I create Daily Notes in advance, so I cannot use the Creation date for organizing purposes.
Was anything mentioned about the multi-tab update that was showcased in the last Town Hall? It looked promising and much better than having to open a new window.
@ferdzso There was no details about simple formulas will have in the update next week. Someone asked for a timeframe for stage 2 of the formulas, but I don’t remember if the team gave an answer.
Also no mention of the multi-tab update, not sure where that is in the roadmap, or if it’s one of those surprise updates.
Thank you for joining us!
A big thank you to everyone who joined our December Town Hall – it was a pleasure to share exciting news with you all!
If you missed the event or want to revisit the highlights, you can find the recording here.
We’re currently hard at work answering all the questions we have received (and continue to receive
). Your engagement means the world to us! However, with so many thoughtful questions, it will take us a little more time to get through them all ![]()
Stay tuned for a follow-up soon.
These sentences are not helpful.
Anytype is a relatively new product, and if you are comparing to other tools that are far more established, it is not fair by a long shot. You also need to understand that the team may not be the same size as other teams and as such need to heavily prioritize what to work on, and this needs to factor into how to make this product alive and attract more users. It’s a difficult juggling act.
Sure, make feature requests, file bugs, help with suggestions…
Just wanted to make this point come across.
What I think would be helpful is the team opening up for open source devs outside of the core team to contribute. I know it adds its own complexity of reviewing code, etc, but you could always open this up for bug fixing or simpler features, which would liberate the core team to work on more features.
Cheers
I appreciate the use of Vimeo, a far more ethical alternative to Youtube! ![]()
I’m afraid to say that, since the answers will be posted here, I hope to revisit my question and receive a proper answer, as my question was somewhat deflected during the town hall.
I was raising genuine concerns about how people access their accounts with the current login method. This is because the app is no longer just targeting individuals or offline use. Having an unchangeable phrase key, especially now that you can pay for subscriptions or participate in online spaces, makes users vulnerable. However, the response I received shifted towards introducing more traditional login methods, such as email or phone, which was never the issue I was addressing.
I think my post has been misunderstood.
Unless I’m mistaken, “it’s a shame” (“c’est dommage” in French) gives an opinion and does not incriminate the team, which I largely support. And I add my user-case to explains why I need it.
As also said, I’ll point out that no other opinion to my knowledge manages sums on simple tables, as requested above. Here too, it’s a shame
(whatever the tool, finance or team, it’s not a comparison: it’s a shame because it would be very practical).
Oh, and it’s aimed at the community, since the starting point is my astonishment that there isn’t more demand (it really puzzles me, am I the only one to make notes with comparative tables, etc., and not have a note suitable for?).
Totally agree, I talk about it in other posts.
I’ve helped translate, I’ve helped code, I’ve developed a converter for Evernote, I participate in debugging and in the forum… but I’d like to be able to help more with development. It’s always better to be able to do than to ask.

@Shampra probably more than anyone, would know about this ![]()
And while I’m an Anytype fangirl, I also feel some disappointment with the prioritizing and postponing of features and updates.
Just watched it!
Impression: Great people doing a great job!
Keep going ![]()
Thanks for the fast upload !
API demo with Raycast made my day, definitely the one reason why I’m waiting the API but my personal game changer will be the publish to web, can’t wait to be able to use it.
Thanks team for the great work.
You need to create a status relation and attach it to tasks, then the toggles will be that status relation’s options
The Backlog, In Progress toggles? That’s how all Kanban widgets work.
