WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND
When embedding videos and images it would be nice to have overlay options to show more information about the object itself. Currently embedded video shows first frame of the video and nothing more which makes difficult to say what is what when you have multiple versions.
HOW COULD IT BE DONE
Appearance of embedded video should have more options to include overlayed info such as video name, caption, size, date, author or any other available relation.
Also previously defined thumbnail image could be displayed by default instead of first frame of the video.There should be option to choose a frame or upload an image,
REAL WORLD USE CASES
I have currently ongoing project and a page where I track progress of a VFX task I`m assigned to. On that page there is a section Version history with embedded videos. When I make a new version a drag and drop it there. Currently with this type of view there is no way to tell which version is which. I could make a caption every time but that is some extra work and prone to error.
RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES
If overlay is more difficult to implement, simple captions with additional info will work too.
