This is because the “Join Our Community” link in the app is an invitation portal to the forum, which stages the account for Beta Types. People who already have an account should avoid using this link to enter the Community, as it will reassign you to the Beta Type group.
Thankfully accounts retain the date they were created, so if it was during the Alpha phase, it can be reverted if necessary.
