The Linux app only shows titlebar & menubar and a white, blank space

Description and reproduction of the bug

I downloaded the .appimage file on my Linux machine (elementaryOS 5.1), made the file executable with Nautilus file manager, right-clicked, and selected “Run”.When the app opened up, it just showed the titlebar, the menubar, and a white, blank space. None of the menu items are functional and the app is totally unusable.

Expected behavior

I expected the menu items to be functional and see a login & setup screen instead of a blank and unusable space.

Desktop

  • OS: elementaryOS 5.1 (based on Ubuntu 18)
  • Device: Acer Travelmate 5760 (10 year old laptop)
  • Version: 0.18.28

@Alixop Anytype requires GLIB version to be at least 2.29. Should be fixed once you’re updated to elementary 6 I guess.

I’m having the same issue on KDE Neon focal now (20.04 focal),

it didn’t occur before

my glib is: ldd (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.31-0ubuntu9.2) 2.31

works well on ubuntu 20.04. Try to update and see if it fixes it.
