Template title replace object title

WHAT IS THE BUG

After applying template, template title replace object title (for ex. “Author of the book” replace “Robert Martin”)

HOW TO REPRODUCE IT

  1. Create template for object type with name
  2. Create new object (using relations etc.)
  3. Name new object
  4. Change the type and apply template
  5. See that template title replace object title that u wrote earlier.

THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Template title will not replace object title. Template will change layout, add relations and/or text, but not replace object name fully.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

On 0.35.4 and earlier template title was helpful to name every template that can be applied. This workflow should stay with stable release.

I don’t think it’s a bug, @Charlotte announced it with v0.34 release.

But I think template name and template title are two different things and must be two different things.

  • A name to recognize the template
  • A title to define the default title for this template (with perhaps automation, as Charlotte said).

She said that the name will be applied when creating an object using a template, and not replace the existing one.

Or I don’t understand something…

Replacing an object title with template title was a bug fixed in 0.36.0 (I can’t reproduce it after update to 0.36.0)
