Some gifs render oddly as icons

WHAT IS THE BUG

Some gifs show weirdly as icons. It looks like some frames bleed into the next one.

Example:
Notice how the same gif looks right as a cover, but not as an icon.

Another example:
Gif looks fine as media, but not as an icon.

HOW TO REPRODUCE IT

  1. Upload a .gif as an icon. The ones that didn’t show up correctly for me are from this page: Category:LINE - WiKirby: it's a wiki, about Kirby!.
  2. That’s it!

THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

I expected for it to appear correctly.

SYSTEM INFORMATION

  • OS:
    Arch Linux
  • Device:
    Lenovo Legion
  • Anytype Version:
    0.30.0 (from the AUR)

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

I tried one different .gif not from the WiKirby and it looked fine.

I’m not sure whether gifs are officially supported as icons. @Razor do you know? Maybe this will be solved when the fix is released for allowing users to select unsupported file formats (can’t find the topic right now)

@zwuy could you edit your post and remove all the pencil icons? Those are just the placeholders to indicate that you need to edit that part of the template.

Does this mean that some rendered successfully?

.gifs aren’t even selectable as icons in the latest Nightly version I’m using, so it’s possible @zwuy found an Easter egg!
