In the past couple of days I felt pretty satisfied with the search functionality in the desktop app. This is where I was doing most of the work and using the material in AT as a reference. There were no annoyances, missing pages, etc. The search was mainly spot on and has identified related links.

So, I’d like to say thank you to the team for definitely working on this! We can also notice less comments in the “complaints thread”. 🙂

> What’s The Bug? Since update to 0.48.2, some pages/objects do not show up even when typing an exact word from title (Ctrl + K or using mentions @…) If the page is accessed, then it becomes available. I could not determine a criteria for a page to show or not How To Reproduce It try to search for a page that has not been accessed in a while? it does not appear in search popup The Expected Behavior Pages should always appear when searching for an exact word in title Device Desktop OS Win 11 …

The effort and the functionality is much appreciated!

While I can’t definitely say if any search terms were missed, considering that this is my knowledge base, I don’t have a feeling that things were missing from the results. Which was definitely the case in the past couple of weeks, where pages would disappear from search results, or would not be found, etc. But, over the last weekend and the past couple of days I was extremely busy with setting up a server and was using my materials as references. I literally not once felt that the search sucks and, in hindsight, I have to say it is such a great feeling to have!

I still don’t find 37c3 when I search for c3 🙂
I also don’t find anything “cloudflare” when I search for “flare”
I also don’t find “Barrierefreiheit” when I search for “freiheit”

It seems that I have to know how words and phrases start. Otherwise I don’t find anything.

I agree that a great improvement in finding information in AT in general would be to do either a fuzzy search or, even better, a semantic search. Would this be an instant turn off for some people, as soon as someone mentions “AI”, I don’t know. But it would be a fantastic experience to have it link information in the space automagically.

Same, I was looking for a PDF yesterday, and I ended up creating a query and searching through it manually…

I wish I would agree but clearly, search is wonky. I have numerous doubles or triples here and there. That’s one if not the main frustration for me
