Remove icons from page links

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND

Define a specific feature that is missing or could be improved:
In the most recent release, icons have been included as a prefix to any link going out to a page or note. Please remove these as they are visually distracting.

HOW COULD IT BE DONE

ᅟDetail the solution you would like to get what you need:
Reverse the design decisions made when preparing the 0.35 release.

REAL WORLD USE CASES

Describe specifically how this feature would be used, and why it should be implemented:
N/A

RECOMMENDED ALTERNATIVES

ᅟPlease explain any workaround or feature you may have considered:
The option to toggle the icons on or off within settings.

ADDITIONAL CONTEXT

ᅟIf further context, people, or related Feature Requests should be mentioned, do so right here:

Your image doesn’t seem to be rendered.

The icon prefix was already included in 0.34, I think.

And while they sometimes are nice, I’d welcome a setting to turn them of by default or something similar.

I was already excited for the change in 0.35 “Edit Object icons in Mentioned & Linked Objects” as I thought this would enable me to remove the icon for just some links. Sadly that just removes the icon of the linked page completely…

I have the same issue and consider this to be rather a bug than a feature :see_no_evil:

It was literally implemented in the last update
Although icon in the attached image seems a bit distorted.

Okay now I get it. But even if the icon wouldn’t be distorted it shouldn’t show any icon if no icon is set for the mentioned object, right?! For me this is also very distracting. Oh and this is only happening on iOS for me, not on macOS…

Maybe a general option in settings to enable/disable icons in mentions would also help here…

There will be an option in the settings to enable / disable icons in parts of the UI iirc.
