[Possible bug?] Notion import has strange quirks - doesn't import everything correctly

Overall, I’m really impressed how the API import works. However, I’m not sure if the issue I’ve encountered is normal or just can be replicated in Anytype. I’ve made a few screencasts to illustrate.

WHAT IS THE BUG

After the Notion API import has completed, a lot of my pages are Untitled or certain rows are imported as pages/notes (e.g. P/E Ratio as this row in present in almost all notes).

Then other times the list of notes are not clickable. In Notion this same list has notes and these notes are clickable and have content. (see screencast).

HOW TO REPRODUCE IT

I’d be happy to provide access or more detailed screencasts if that helps.

THE EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

Is there something on the Notion side I can or should change for it to import properly? I don’t expect the import to be perfect, but it should have imported e.g. the Industry list correctly as it did other lists of notes or e.g. the Position Sizing Rules page (see screencast here:

I can confirm bugs when importing from Notion using API.

1. I have hundreds of links in Notion that got imported as Untitled bookmarks.
2. If bookmark is having caption in Notion it will be imported as bookmark title and it will be overwritten when using “Reload from source”. I would prefer to have separate “caption” or “notes” for every bookmark (beside title, description and tags). And this would be visible under bookmark inserted into the page (same like in Notion).
3. All headers in Notion (h1 to h3) are imported as only one level: “Subheading”.

Probably you have some empty objects in your Databases, so that’s why they are imported as Untitled. Rows in your Notion Databases are all Page objects in Notion, so they are also imported as Page objects in Anytype.

Could you please provide your API token with failed objects (Position Sizing Rules, Industry list and so on), so we could debug your issues? You can send token to me in private chat

You can also try to reimport failed pages and see if problem is gone

This issue has been fixed by the Development Team and will be implemented in an upcoming release.
